Blue Hen Falls

We participated in the Penisula Plein Air competition last weekend. So many choices, so little time! Kathy & I hiked down a treacherously steep bank to paint this view of Blue Hen Falls at Cuyahoga Valley National park. It was peaceful, even with the background singing of the 17 year locusts out in full force! This painting won first place. It has also been accepted into the Springfield Museum OPAS show "Parks". Which opens in Oct.

Peninsula Railroad Station

Painted this during a weekend competition in Peninsula, Ohio. It will be on sale at the Peninsula Art Academy until August 6. Don't yet know the results of the competition. The bright caboose against the green tree first attracted me, but the old train station and train trailing out into the distance are what I like about the painting.
