Hidden Mesa

Painted larger this week. Took apart an older painting & stretched new canvas on the old stretchers. I took my inspiration from an 8" x 10" Plein Air piece done on the Hidden Mesa Open Space trail. (See "Waiting For Bluebirds") The result is this 34" x 38" studio painting. Nice to imagine myself back in Colorado with a view of the mountains!

Valmont Road

A few days ago I drove to Boulder to paint with the plein air group at the Teller Farm open space. It was an extremely hot day and one other painter was there. I found a new way to secure my sun umbrella, in spite of stony ground! This week I plan to join the artists painting in Denver Plein Air Festival at the downtown "Golden Triangle"
