Fayette Farmland

My demo for my Plein Air class yesterday. This is at the edge of Fayetteville, PA. What a lovely day to paint outside and what an amazing place to be. We saw several teams of horses at work and the sounds of threshing was our background music.
Received one of two Women's Art committee awards at the Youngstown YWCA Women artist show 2015

Byler's Clothesline

We discovered a friendly Amish family, who gave us permission to paint on their property. All their clothes are in shades of blue. The warm sun lit up their house and the line of clothes. The wind was whipping the line hither and yon as we tried to focus on the shapes. Anna told us that she and her mother made the quilt in a geometric pattern called flowers.

Thunder Storm Moving In

Thunder storms moved around us as Mary Nell and I painted from the lot of an Amish greenhouse. What a lovely view, I could not do it justice. As the evening approached and clouds rolled across the sky the colors of the landscaped changed constantly.

Volant Barn

This barn, chicken house & summer kitchen are near the Volant Mill. The sun highlighting the buildings impressed us. This painting won first place in New Castle Festival of the Arts!
