Anita Reading

Another of my winter indoor paintings. Our hostess, Anita, posed for us one cold day. Each of the artists did fantastic paintings in their own styles! This is mine, a 12" x 12" oil on cradled wood.

Bluebells

Eastern Ohio Plein Air group met this week at Poland Forest. The bluebells were fully opened. After finishing the landscape I was in the mood to paint a portrait. Marilyn, Brad's girlfriend was hanging out,  and she enthusiastically agreed to pose for me. Thank you Marilyn! Loved painting this and she said, "It looks just like me!"

Another quick oil sketch. I love those dear faces, each person is the work of a great artist, God himself.

Wanted to share with you a couple of quick oil portrait sketches I did at the DavisYMCA a week ago. I have done tons of quick pencil sketches down through the years. After doing so many on the spot landscape paintings I thought, "why not try some on the spot portraits?" So I did, and it was great fun.
