New Castle Hill

Jan, who is taking my Hoyt class, led us to this area of town yesterday. We were not sure how the sunspots and evening shadows would move as time passed, but were pleasantly surprised. A kind and lovely local resident brought us hot coffee as the evening turned cool.

Rainy Day in New Castle

Another plein air demo. It was raining on this day when we set up, but I was determined we would not give in to the weather. I took along some large umbrellas, some that could attach to the easel and one that fit into a holder thrust into the ground. I also took rain parkas. We painted contentedly while it drizzeled.

Highland Street Bridge

Another demo, this one last week. It is amazing that the Lord has given us sunshine for the two classes. The one day in the week of sun, in fact. The report is that this bridge is to be torn down. This painting and two others were juried into the Hoyt Regional show. $385 oil on canvas 11" X 14"
