Ancient Anderson Tree

I had no idea this 42 Foot high, 350 year old white oak tree existed, 20 minutes from our home! One day when drive an uncle and aunt home from church my aunt happened to mention it. I was finally able to make contact with the owner for permission to bring my plein air group here. Absolutely awe inspiring to spend an afternoon observing such living treasure.

Bales of Corn Stalks

Could hardly wait for a chance to paint this scene. The bales are of Corn Stalks. Somewhat rougher than the normal straw or hay bales. The daylight was gone before I was quite ready, however I was able to return the following day.
This painting has been juried into the Butler juried area artist exhibit, which will hang in March.

Farm Road

This is the demo during my first Y class this session. It gets dark so quickly now. But, the evening sun makes such lovely contrasts and colors!

Peace Farm

A year and a half ago I painted this farm landscape near Leetonia. I chose it because of the big peace sign painted on the side and because I liked the distant view. The painted sign on the barn never got into the painting. But, I never quite liked the painting. This week I pulled it out and was looking for a painting to fit a 12' X 12" frame. I cropped the left side of this painting and now I really like it, plus it fits the frame. 12" X12" oil on canvas $450

Amish Farm

Last weekend I painted with Tom McNickles. There were at least twelve other artists taking his workshop. He paints en plein air in watercolor, but does wonderful studio paintings in oil using the plein air studies. Below is the first painting that I did. Oil on Canvas. 11" X 14" $350
