Ohio River Valley

East Liverpool is an Ohio river city. This is the spectacular view in autumn hues from the hilltop this Monday. West Virginia is just across the river. The temperature was a little nippy, but my sister and two friends, Sheri and Carol all did wonderful paintings. One of my art instructors used to tell us we would make better art if we were not too comfortable!

Pond In Autumn

A lovely natural untrimmed pond in Mark's Woods, about a mile from us. The owner is very gracious, inviting me to paint here whenever I like. It should be nice on a snowy day. Lupine only knocked my easel over once, he is usually very careful, but this time got carried away with the excitement of a chase.

Afternoon Across The Road

Just had to paint one more before the bad weather sets in. Also, the farmers have harvested the soy bean fields around us. So glad they left this one more day!

Early spring, Carter Road

My artist friend Michelle came to my side of Ohio for the weekend. The wind was bitterly cold, but we were determined to paint every day. One day we went to Kirkland to see our friend Jim's art show. We came back through Middlefield, Amish country, and painted a farm that sold baked goods. I sold that painting. The painting below was done in the evening. It is a view from Carter Road in Fairfield township.

Ohio Appalachia

This is a scene near Clarkson, just above Beaver Creek State park. It was evening and I loved the pale green field of grain against the dark trees. The blue hills in the distance with just a hint of pink in the sky. The crown vetch and some iron weed almost ready to bloom in the foreground gave it some complimentary color.
