Still Life With Red Boots

This winter will soon be over. Then we will be back outside painting in the open air! Meanwhile Anita has given us some amazing things to include in still life paintings. These things were in her garage. What fun!

Valley Creek

Follow old state route 558 just west of Franklin Square. You will see this creek, which looks rather shallow. When we have heavy rains it overflows it's banks, spills over the road and into nearby fields. This week it was just a trickling creek and we could park in the field alongside.

Tea & Oranges

We have had plenty of snow, just the opportunity to paint some still lifes. This is the first, more to come. My friend from my childhood gave me this china teapot on my last birthday. I thought it would look nice in a painting. Sold

Chamberlin Creek

This scene is only a mile or so from us. I went there twice last week standing at the edge of the road to work on it. While I painted a small muskrat swam and splashed in the foreground area. 12" X 16" oil on canvas $350

Lakeside Hollyhocks

Painted during the Lakeside Plein Air paintout. The colors of the lake change with the the whims of sky and wind and temperature. It is facinating to study.

Middlefork Creek

I painted this while sitting in my car near a railroad track, about a half mile from Franklin Square. I'm pleased with the oil color combination of Manganese Blue, Mars Yellow and Burnt Sienna. SOLD
