Clear Creek Canyon

Denver Plein Air painters met at Clear Creek Canyon State Park today. As usual I didn't find the group, but found a great place to paint. Turns out they were about 10 miles on up the canyon road. Jon & Leslie stopped by on their way back. Thanks for your encouragement guys.
I will have to dig out all my winter layers. It was cold up there.

This painting came out great! You really captured the movement of the creek! I like the way you worked out the trees on the left. Watching you paint this was a bit of a watershed moment for me.. I learned a number of things really fast! I think you picked the best spot of any of us this day. Glad you posted this!

Jon, your observations give me such a boost. Your work has a sensitivity that is compelling.
I have darkened the tops of the trees on the left to push the hil back a bit.

That is beautiful! The cool water and warm rocks are lovely! I'm hoping to get more plein-air in this autumn and into the winter. Your paintings are very inspiring, so thank you! Well done.
Happy Painting!
